The Rotary Club of Ubeji, District 9141, has generously paid the West African Examination Council (WAEC) enrollment fees for ten outstanding secondary school students in its Mandated Area in Warri South local government area of Delta State.
During the presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries, the club’s President, Rotarian Emiko Akpita, praised the ten best students for their dedication and hard work, which led to their enrollment fee coverage.
President of Rotary Club of Ubeji while addressing the students and their parents disclosed that 110 students took part in the three months of intensive preparation for the WAEC examination before the 10 best were selected for their outstanding performance .

The president revealed that the students selected were from three different schools in Ubeji and neighboring communities.
He stated that the initiative aligns with one of Rotary International’s seven areas of focus, specifically the Basic Education and Literacy project, aimed at motivating students to excel in their examinations.
Rotarian Akpita encouraged all students to study diligently, even if they did not receive the free enrollment, to achieve outstanding results.
Project Chairman, Rotarian Omasheyin Odele, noted that the students benefited from coaching sessions conducted by Rotary club of Ubeji paid teachers In order to further enhance their examination readiness.

For their part Past Presidents of the club, Rotarians Orode Hesse and Daniel Edemayibo, also commended the students for their hard work which earned them the free enrollment of WAEC and emphasized that education remains the most valuable legacy parents can offer their children.
Among the top students, Master Israel Etseyatse, Miss Glory Akperi, and Miss Goodness Uti expressed their gratitude to Rotary Club of Ubeji for the opportunity and the preparatory classes, with their parents also thanking the club for alleviating the financial burden associated with the WAEC examination fees.
Meanwhile during the club’s assembly, Mr. Benedict Ojire and Mr. Ukuesan Anomuoghara were officially inducted into the Rotary Club of Ubeji.
