SAPELE – The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has personally taken charge of the investigation into the abduction of the Sapele Local Government council Chairman, conducting a high-level operational visit to the scene to ensure a swift and safe rescue.
During the assessment on Saturday, CP Oyeniyi inspected the Debro Fred Guest House, the site where the Chairman was kidnapped to gain first-hand clarity on the incident.

He further visited the Ogorode Waterside, where the getaway vehicle used by the kidnappers was recovered, directing forensic teams to exploit all available leads from the abandoned car.
In a show of support, CP Yemi Oyeniyi,visited the Chairman’s wife to offer words of comfort and firm assurances that the Command is exhausting all resources to bring her husband home unharmed.
He also stopped at local hospitals to check on victims who sustained injuries during the violent attack.

Speaking on the Command’s progress, CP Oyeniyi stated that security forces are currently acting on “credible intelligence” and working in close synergy with other agencies to track the perpetrators.
“The Command is fully committed to the protection of lives and property,” a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, reads. “We have deployed adequate resources to rescue the victim unhurt and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
The police have urged residents of Sapele and the general public to remain vigilant and provide any timely information that could assist in the ongoing rescue operation.
