As part of effort to ensure continuous protection of critical oil and gas infrastructure in the Niger Delta Region, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has trained one hundred Commanders of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Tantita Security personnel on intensive swimming and Basic water survival techniques.
Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, stated that the training programme was put together to ensure that officers tasked with protecting oil pipelines in the Niger Delta have the basic skills to survive and respond during water emergencies.

Chief Pondi while commending the Commanders of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Tantita Security personnel for completing the five-day intensive training on basic skills to survive and respond during water emergencies, stressed that the company would continue to train personnel on various skills to enhance their operations.
Chief Pondi who was represented by Executive Director Legal, Tantita, Mr Emmanuel Jakpa, stated that Tantita is positioned to ensure that personnel and security partners are trained in life-saving swimming techniques, water rescue procedures and emergency drills to prevent accidents.

He further thanked the personnel from Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their collaboration with Tantita in the fight against oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.
The Executive Director, Operation and Technical Tantita Security Services, Capt Warredi Enisuoh, represented by Mr Roland Isereke, stated that the safety of personnel is Tantita’s top priority.
He added that the Training is part of Tantita’s commitment to improving the skills and welfare of its operatives.
Also, the Manager, security and military liaison, Tantita Security Services,Brigadier General Efe Edafioghor, (Rtd)thanked Jiboa Aquatic Consultancy Services for facilitating the training.
While noting that the joint operations with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) require adaptability, discipline, and technical proficiency, Brigadier General Edafioghor stated that the training will reduce personnel casualties to the barest minimum during operations.

The training sessions headed by the managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jiboa Aquatic Consultancy Services Mr James Igare trained Officers on how to stay afloat without life jackets, help drowning victims, and react quickly in case of boat mishaps or other emergencies. Mr Igare advised the trainees to continue training after the programme inorder to sharpen their already acquired skills gotten from Tantita training.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdullahi, Chief Superintendent of Corps, Musa Usman, amongst others, thanked Tantita Security Services for the training programme and urged the management to make it a continuous programme.

The 5-day Programme held at Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State was climaxed with the presentation of certificates to the trainees.
