A prominent chief in Okere Urhobo Kingdom , Chief (Sir)Syvelster Udi,JP has hailed HRM Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpimi – Egboboyen Owhotemu II the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom over the presentation of his staff of office by the Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori who was represented by his Deputy Sir Monday John Onyeme on Friday 22nd September, 2023 .
Udi who bears the title of Atuyota of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the event, thanked Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for the approval of the staff of office as he remarked that it brought joy to the good people of Okere Urhobo Kingdom and friends of the kingdom.
Udi who is the Unuovwodo of Agbarha Warri Community of Ogunu also appreciated Governor Oborevwori for his kind remarks on the Okere Urhobo people in his key note address read on his behalf by the Deputy Governor of Delta State Sir Monday John Onyeme shortly before the presentation of staff of office.
Udi was also full of praises for the Otota ( tradititioal prime minister ) of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, High Chief ( retired Brigadier General ) Gold Eburu , the Okere Urhobo Tradititioal Council and other Okere Urhobo people that contributed to the huge success of the event.
Udi had expressed gratitude to God for the clement weather during the historic and colourful event.
