Urhobo women have been Enjoined to remain united and promote the culture and tradition of the Urhobo people.
The queen of Okere urhobo kingdom, HRH Queen Elizabeth Eyekpimi-Egboboyen ,Udu’Ovie of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, made the statement when she received the National Executive and Members of the women’s wing of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) worldwide at the palace of the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom,His Royal Majesty Dr. Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpimi-Egboboyen Owhotemu II.

The Queen ,Udu’Ovie of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom who was elated to receive the Ehweya R’ Urhobo delegation led by the Osu, Dame (Chief )Rose Oghene commended the group for their visit to the palace of the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo kingdom.
The Udu ‘Ovie said she admired the unity and love among the members of the UPU women’s wing, urging them to remain united and be a good ambassadors of the Urhobo Nation .
She thanked the women for all they are doing to assist the indigent urhobo women in the society.
The wife of the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo kingdom commended the leader of the Ewheya R’Urhobo, Dame (Chief) Rose Oghene for her unique leadership style and pledged to partner with the group for the progress of the Okere Urhobo kingdom and the Urhobo nation .

Earlier the Osu Ehweya R’ Urhobo Dame (Chief) Rose Oghene revealed to the queen of Okere Urhobo kingdom that
the group had earlier visited six Urhobo Queens to inform them about the UPU women’s wing and their activities.
Dame (Chief) Oghene revealed to the Queen that the monarch of Okere Urhobo kingdom,Okumagba I of blessed memory was the founder of the new dimension of Ehweya R’Urhobo, stressing that they are happy to be in the kingdom .

The Osu Ehweya R’ Urhobo urged the Queen to continue to have a good relationship with the women of the kingdom and teach them how to be good and caring wives to their husbands as well as imbibe in them the spirit of forgiveness .
She also appealed to the Udu’ovie of okere urhobo kingdom to encourage the women to join UPU women’s wing.
The event featured cultural display by the UPU women’s wing okere urhobo chapter, presentation of a portrait of the Queen amongst others.
