WARRI – The Voice of Warri Kingdom Women Initiative has made a passionate appeal to the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, and the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to urgently intervene and end the recurring violence in Ogidigben, Ugborodo community,Warri South- West Local Government of Delta State.
Leading a delegation to the Palace of the Olu of Warri, the group’s President, Mrs. Vivian Mene, raised the alarm over the resurgence of hostilities in the Warri South-West local government area.
She lamented that the community has been gripped by insecurity since December 20, 2025, following armed invasions that led to widespread destruction and displacement.
According to Mrs. Mene, the situation took a dire turn during the recent Easter celebration when several indigenes who returned home were reportedly chased into the forest, with some feared dead.
She also disclosed that many innocent youths have been held at the Okere Correctional Centre since the crisis began and appealed for their release .
“We want lasting peace in Ogidigben.
The community is still reeling from the devastating death of Mr. Onuwaje Emiko and the destruction of property,” Mrs. Mene stated.
Supporting the plea, the group’s Vice President, Mrs. Loretta Eyeoyibo, emphasized that women and children remain the primary victims of the instability.

She urged Senator Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to partner with the monarch to resolve the dispute once and for all, allowing displaced residents to return to their ancestral homes.

Mrs. Eyeoyibo further condemned the disparagement of the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III by certain individuals, describing insults against the monarch as a “taboo.”
She noted Ogiame Atuwatse III reign has brought significant development to the kingdom and called on all stakeholders to prioritize unity and respect to the Revered monarch.
“No meaningful development can take place in a society prone to crisis,” she warned, calling for an immediate end to the hostilities to safeguard the future of the kingdom.
