One of the coordinators of Ndigbo Political Ambassadors ( NPA ) Nze Francis Onuora has explained why Igbos in Delta State are in support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Onuora who is also a Senior Special Assistant( SSA) to Governor Okowa on Community Development spoke to newsmen during the PDP mega rally at the Warri Township Stadium on Thursday 22nd December, 2022 .
Onuorae explained that the Igbos in Delta State were closer to the PDP government under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa than any other administration since the political era in the state.
Onuora substantiated his claim with Governor Okowa ‘ s appointment of 5 aides of Igbo extraction.
The appointees were himself ( SSA on Community Development ) , Hon Michael Ezeh ( Executive Assistant on Community Development ) Comrade Festus Ukeje ( SSA on Political Matters) , Chief Nwafor ( SA on Political Matters) and Dr Igwe Ogbonna ( SA on Community Development).
He also gladly disclosed that Governor Okowa bought a piece of land for the Igbos for the building of a secretariat in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area, purchase of bus and cash donations to fire victims of Ndigbo traders in Warri among others .
” We believe that a continuation of PDP government in the state will also be favourable to us .
” It our believe also that if Governor Okowa is elected as Vice President of Nigeria , he will more for us .
” All these reasons and many others that I cannot remember now, account for our support for the PDP and that is why we here in our numbers.
” We are very proud of our support for the PDP ” he added.
