Akasa Calls For Patronage And Protection Of Alaka Health Centre

The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Hope Akasa has called for more patronage and protection of Alaka Health Centre, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State .

Akasa who is the highest tradititioal chief in Uvwie Kingdom made the call at a meeting with members of a non government organisation ( NGO ) and personnel of the health centre at his residence in Alaka Quarters , Effurun on Monday 15th May , 2023 .

While appreciating government for the establishment of the health center  in the area, he urged residents to take advantage of it to take care of their health.

The Uvwie high chief also urged residents to protect the health centre from the hands of vandals as he warned that the relocation of the health centre from Alaka Quarters on account of insecurity will cost residents, government ‘ s gesture of the provision of a free health delivery system in the area.

He however promised to provide security and other assistance to the health centre.

An Health Educator from the health centre, Evon Idiara who spoke to Newsmen shortly after the meeting , proudly disclosed that there were free medical services such as child delivery, immunization for children under the age of  0- 5 years , family planning among others as well as qualified medical personnel at Alaka Health Centre.

The Team Leader of the  NGO, Partners For Hope, Nicholas Ugbeye who  spoke in the same disclosed that the NGO was in collaboration with some stakeholders in providing services that were lacked by the health centre free of charge as well as provide solutions to issues confronting  the health centre.

Ugbeye and Idiara had earlier appreciated High Chief Akasa for his promises and also added their voices to his calls for patronage and protection of Alaka Health Centre by residents.
