… Affirm Edewor as party authentic leader

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, In Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, on Sunday, declared that President Bola Tinubu and governor Sheriff Oborevwori are the two unopposed candidates of the party in the forthcoming presidential and governorship elections in 2027.

The leaders also confirmed an astute politician and business tycoon, Chief Bernard Edewor, as the leader of APC in Ethiope East Local Government Area, a development that received the full support of the entire college of leaders and stakeholders.

LGA party Chairman, Chief Julius Ogboru, State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, Rt Rt Hon Sunny Emeyese and other prominent leaders said the decision to unanimously endorse and adopt President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as presidential and governorship elections in 2027, was as a result of their visionary leadership and good governance strides since they assumed office in 2023, and counting.

The leaders noted that President Tinubu has exhibited strong political willpower power, competence and unwavering commitment to actualizing the Renewal Hope Agenda through remodelled policies and programmes that laid strong foundation for speedy economic recovery and incremental growth.

The leaders assured that President Tinubu’s economic policies, actions and inactions would continue to impact positively on the well-being and prosperity of all Nigerians, as can be seen from the downward inflation, and positive signs of a stronger and better economy.

The meeting commended President Bola Tinubu for the removal of fuel subsidy which had upscaled monthly allocation to states, and for embarking on mega road infrastructure development connecting cities and communities across Nigeria.

Reflecting on the landmark achievements of governor Oborevwori in Delta State, Ethiope APC leaders commended his giant strides in mega infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts, noting that in two years the governor received three major national Awards namely; Best Governor of the Year, Best Governor in Infrastructure, and Best Governor in Good Governance; a development that placed Delta in the front roll of economically bouyant states, and rated as the fourth largest economy in Nigeria.

The leaders urged both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to remain focused, and be pragmatic in the ongoing implementation of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, assuring that the 2027 Presidential and governorship elections shall be a walkover, a foreseeable victory in Ethiope East LGA, in Delta State and across Nigeria.

Earlier in his opening remark, the Chairman of APC in Ethiope East, Chief Julius Ogboru, expressed satisfaction over the turnout of leaders and stakeholders at the meeting, and emphasized the importance of unity in securing electoral victory.

According to him, “This meeting is long overdue, and I am excited to see the APC family in Ethiope East come together as one. This is how victory is built through unity and shared vision,” he stated.

A former National Assembly member who represented the good people of Ethiope Federal Constituency at the Green chamber, Rt. Hon. Lovette Idisi, moved the motion for the endorsements of both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as Sole APC candidates for the 2027 presidential and governorship elections, and was seconded by Rt. Hon. Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese, also a former member of the House of Representatives, The entire LGA leaders supported the motion, indicating overwhelming party consensus.

In his goodwill message, the Director of Protocol to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Okakuro Sunday Onoriode, urged leaders and stakeholders to prioritize party loyalty and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are one LGA, one party, and we must work as one united front. The success of our great party begins with moments like this,” he emphasized.
