The Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, was honored with the prestigious “Transformational Development Legacy Award” during the 2025 Press Week Lecture and Awards Ceremony organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, in Asaba.
The award, presented on Thursday, recognized his visionary leadership and tireless commitment to grassroots transformation.

Receiving the accolade, an elated Hon. Andaye thanked the NUJ for acknowledging purposeful governance and affirmed that the recognition reinforces his administration’s achievements since taking office.

He pledged to accelerate development in Bomadi and align his efforts with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on sustainable development, infrastructure, and improved quality of life.

The Bomadi council Boss noted that the award comes after recent recognitions as *“Best Local Government Chairman in Nigeria 2025” (Time Africa Magazine) and “Icon of Societal Transformation”(National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS), and follows the completion and commissioning of 14 mega‑projects earlier this year. “We never did what we did for recognition, but it is encouraging to be observed and deemed worthy by practicing journalists,” Andaye said, adding that the honor calls him to do more for Bomadi.

Presenting the award, Delta State APC Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie commended Andaye for delivering verifiable, people‑oriented projects that advanced Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Renewed Hope agenda.
