Addressing traders at the popular Afor Market, Pastor Chukwunwike expressed deep concern over the untidy state of some business premises, warning that poor sanitation habits pose grave health risks and will no longer be tolerated. He charged market men and women to take the clean-up exercise seriously, stressing that compliance with sanitation rules is a collective responsibility.
“Cleanliness is not an event—it is a culture we must all embrace. A healthy environment means healthy people, and healthy people mean a stronger community. As your council chairman, I will continue to enforce environmental standards, but I urge every citizen to take ownership. Together, we can achieve more for Aniocha South,” Chukwunwike declared.
At Isa, Ogwashi-Uku, the council chairman commended the youths for their proactive effort in weeding and clearing blocked waterways, describing their action as an example of true community spirit. He, however, frowned at the attitude of some commuters who defied the restriction hours, urging them to respect the approved time for sanitation to ensure its effectiveness.
