—-Describes Her as blackmailer, serial liar

A frontline Northern group, Arewa Peoples Assembly (APA), has called for the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the Senate plenary over the allegation of sexual harassment she levelled against the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The group lampooned Akpoti-Uduaghan for what it perceived as her “unrepentant frivolities” and asked the Senate to suspend her for one year in the first instance to elicit remorse from the embattled Kogi federal lawmaker.

It also requested that the suspension be further extended if she failed to show remorse within the initial one year.

The APA described the allegation by Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate as not only frivolous but lacking credibility.

The group said Akpoti-Uduaghan was only out to embarrass and ridicule Akpabio as well as discredit the leadership of the Senate in the psyche of the public.

The group made the call in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Auta Balarabe and Director of Orientation and Mobilisation, Mallam Basir Gowon, on Monday.

It will be recalled that Akpoti-Uduaghan while appearing on a national television on Friday alleged that Akpobio harassed her sexually in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital, in December 2023, adding that her failure to succumb to Akpabio’s sex advances were responsible for her present trivials in the Senate.

APA said the time lag between December 8th, 2023 and Friday, February 28th, 2025, when she came out to make the allegation showed that “she is dishonest and raising false alarm.”

The leadership of APA wondered why Akpoti-Uduaghan waited for over one year before she suddenly woke up from her slumber to remember that Akpabio sexually harassed her in December 2023 by the end of February 2025.

The group recalled that same Senate President, whom he rebuffed his sex advances yet rewarded her by making her the Chairman of a juicy grade A committee, Senate Committee on Local Content Development Board despite that she came late into the National Assembly.

“We in the Arewa Peoples Assembly (APA) cannot be cajoled by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan frivolities. This is a Senator who was brought into the Senate through judicial pronouncement clearly many months after the inauguration of the National Assembly. The same man she denied sex graciously made her the Chairperson of the Senate Commitee on Local Content. She didn’t raise any issue as at that time. She didn’t remember that Akpabio, whom she refused her sex advances was generous to the extent that he made her the Chairperson of a Grade A Commitee.”

“She has to wait until she was removed as Chairperson of Local Content Committee around February 3rd 2025 probably due to acts of misdemeanours before her brain was configured to remember that Akpabio had approached her for sex and she refused. This is crass nonsense and flagrant acts of blackmail.”

“We suggest that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan be referred to medical experts for thorough mental evaluation. She appears unwell mentally. Why is she the only woman politician being sexually harassed by every man?

“Before now, she blackmailed former Governor Yahaya Bello, Senator Dino Melaye and former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri on the same accusation that they want to sleep with her. In the case of Reno Omokri, she was forced to eat the humble pies as she was compelled to apologise when it became clear that she lied to discredit the gentleman. It’s now the turn of the Senate President to be maligned and denigrated by the blatant lier and dishonest woman.”

“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is the one blackmailing accomplished and prominent men in order to gain attention and remain in public psyche. How does she rate herself? She must have over rated herself as the only beautiful woman, whom no man can resist. She should be purged of this blackmail tendencies to pull down menfolk. She can’t be the only woman around that every man want as sex toy.”

“What do we expect from a domineering woman who blackmailed her present husband to remain in marriage? At a point when Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan was sufficiently and thoroughly suffocated, the Warri Kingdom Chief opted to bolt away but the emperor wife refused to let go. She slammed the bewildered Itsekiri chief with a N20billion law suit apparently to compel the man to remain in the excruciating and psychologically suffocating relationship. The man was forced to beat a retreat and returned under the control of his tormentor wife.”

“With the way Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan conducts herself in the public space, the Arewa Peoples Assembly do not need any prophet to be convinced that the leadership of her husband is not working. The daring woman is not only in charge but also in control.”

The APA advised Nigerians to ignore Akpoti-Uduaghan’s attention seeking and diversionary antics.

“No right thinking person should take this rabble rouser serious. She was being sexually harassed by the President of the Senate and yet her family and that of Akpabio remained very close until she decided to throw caution into the winds. Our findings showed that the family ties between them informed the decision by Akpabio to appoint her as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Local Content in the first instance. She has clearly mismanaged tbe relationship.”

“Her story lacks merit and credibility. Those taking her seriously are idle and petty like her. They are engaging in mere speculations.”

“To this end, we call on the Senate to suspend her from plenary for one year in the first instance and the suspension must remain in force until she purges herself of dishonest tendencies and unwarranted falsehood and blackmail which have become her stock in trade especially against high profile men.”

“The suspension should be extended beyond one year if she display unrepentant postures,” the group added.
