The Provost of College of Education, Warri Dr Dickson Oyovwi has outlined major strides in infrastructure, academics, and student welfare ahead of the institution’s 21st Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The provost Dr Oyovwi during a Press briefing held at the institution on Thursday thanked Governor Oborevwori, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Governing Council, management, staff, and students for their invaluable contributions to the institution.
Dr Oyovwi ,reflected on his administration since June 2021, noting transformation in infrastructure, staff development, and academic standards as his tenure ends June 2026.
He listed some
TETFund-backed projects to include modern classrooms, office complexes, labs, New state-of-the-art hostel for over 1,600 students,stating that by the next academic session the college will have the capacity to house over 2,000 students on campus.
He also revealed that Multiple staff earned doctoral degrees through TETFund sponsorship.
The provost of the college of education Warri further revealed that the Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the completion of the main administrative building in the institution.
On Security and Environment, Dr Oyovwi disclosed that NDDC installed streetlights, while the institution through its internally generated revenue fenced and beautified the college entrance.
On Academic performance,Dr Oyovwi stated that the institution has 100% success in NCE and affiliated degree programme accreditations since 2021.
He added that the college would commence the new
Dual mode system where students will be awarded with double certificates at the end of their programmes .
The provost of the college of education Warri also revealed that the institution has established COEWA table water, adding that a Compulsory entrepreneurial training for all students will soon commence. The Press briefing was attended by management staff and staff of the institution .

The provost of the college of education Warri disclosed that convocation lecture and Gala will hold on Friday 17th April while Saturday 18th April is the combined 21st convocation ceremony with presentation of Award of certificates and honours to distinguished Deltans.
