Delta Assembly Committee On Works Expresses Satisfaction over Flyover,Road Projects In Warri, Effurun

The Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Special Projects, is pleased with the flyover and road expansion projects being executed by the state government in Effurun and Warri axis of the state.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon Oboro Kenneth Preyor who led other members of the committee on an oversight visit to the project sites at DSC roundabout, PTI junction and Enerhen junction in Uvwie local government area, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the initiative.

Preyor also appreciated Julius Berger, the construction giant handling the projects for the state government for work done so far and urged it to ensure quality, timely completion, environmental consideration, and meaningful engagement with Deltans, especially host communities of the projects as the work progresses.

The Lawmaker who represents Bomadi Constituency in the House, said the mega flyover projects are expected to greatly improve the infrastructure, transportation and economic activities in Warri, Effurun and environs.

Flanked by some members of the Committee, including Ferguson Onwo, Emmanuel Sinebe, Ebitonmo Alapala and Edafe Emakpor, Preyor expressed the hope that the projects would be delivered in December 2025 as promised by the contracting firm.

He restated the resolve of the 8th Delta Assembly to maintain strong partnership with the Executive in ensuring that quality projects are delivered for the benefit of Deltans.

The Lawmakers who defiled the heavy downpour to inspect some other ongoing construction works in Okpe and Sapele local government areas, promised to closely monitor the execution of the projects as work progresses in line with constitutional provisions as regards oversight functions of House Committees.

Projects inspected include, the Storm Water Management and Control in Osubi and the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in Sapele Local Government Area.

Preyor explained that quality assurance as championed by Governor Oborevwori is in line with his campaign promises and the MORE agenda of the administration, stressing that government has committed so much resources towards physical infrastructure development across the state.

He passionately appealed to contractors handling various projects in the state not to frustrate government’s efforts, but to work according to approved designs and timely delivery, considering the positive impacts on the economy and residents.

The Member representing Uvwie in the House, Hon Edafe Emakpor, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for embarking on such huge projects in his constituency, which he said will greatly impact on the twin cities of Effurun and Warri.

Hon Emakpor urged residents to continue to corporate with the State government and contractors for onward delivery of the project.

The oversight inspection visit to other projects in the State continues.
