TUOMO, BURUTU LGA, DELTA STATE – The remains of the esteemed legal practitioner and community leader, Chief Lucky Ekayama Loyibo, JP, were laid to rest in his hometown of Tuomo on January 31, 2026.

A host of dignitaries attended the emotional funeral, including Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, and various members of the Body of Benchers and Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
The burial ceremony attracted a large crowd of family, traditional rulers, political figures, and well-wishers from Delta State and the wider Niger Delta, celebrating a life dedicated to justice, peace, and community service through heartfelt tributes and traditional rites.

High Chief (Dr.) Mike Ekayama Loyibo, Esq., led the Loyibo family in receiving sympathizers who came to honor the memory and lasting legacy of the late chief. Andaye paid tribute to Chief Loyibo, describing him as “a man of sterling principles, humility, and exceptional professional excellence, whose contributions to the legal profession and community development remain deeply appreciated.”
Speakers at the event praised Chief Loyibo’s commitment to service and moral integrity, highlighting the respect he garnered beyond his immediate community.
As his remains were interred, prayers were offered for his peaceful repose, with attendees reflecting on his legacy of integrity and commitment to justice, which continues to inspire the legal community and society at large.
