Peace has been described as the key that unlocks progress , unity and development in the society .
The convener of peace begins with me campaign an initiative of united nations peace keepers by International Association of world peace Advocates, IAWPA Eminent (Dr) Ambassador Juliet Nwokocha made the remark during the flag off ceremony of peace begins with me campaign in Nigeria held in Effurun Delta state .
The convener Eminent( Dr ) Ambassador Juliet Nwokocha while delivering her speech during the appointment of Eminent Peace Ambassadors at Enerhen ,Uvwie local Government Area of Delta State noted that peace is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility And Violence .
She revealed that the international Day of UN peacekeepers is celebrated under the theme “peace begins with me ” a day to honour to uniformed and civilian peace keepers to the United Nations and communities that they served .
Eminent (Dr) Ambassador Nwokocha stated that peace keeping is more challenging than ever amidst rising global political tensions .
She however noted that peace is sacrosanct and advised the new appointees to remain committed in their service to humanity and to further propagate peace .
Also speaking the Director of international Association of world peace Advocates , Eminent Ambassador (Prof) Chidi Ehiriodo and the spokesman of the organisation Eminent Ambassador( Dr) Emmanuel Nkweke
disclosed that international Association of world peace Advocates is a non Governmental organisation and a participants of the United Nations global compact .
They said the Association has maintained a track record that is second to none in area of promoting the United Nations peace objectives and commemoration of the United International Observance Days at romote areas all over the world as well as the restoration of human dignity.
