… Congratulates PDP, Chairmen, Councillors-Elect
Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, has commended Journalists, security agencies, as well as youths and Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, for ensuring peaceful conduct of the 2024 local government council elections held on July 13, 2024.
Chief Executive Officer of the State Bureau, Dr (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, gave the commendation on Sunday while speaking to newsmen in Asaba, the State capital.
He said the multifaceted collaborative efforts of the security agencies, the youths and the mass media enabled DSIEC to conducted a transparent, free and fair local government council elections throughout the 25 local government areas in the state
The Bureau congratulated winners of the election, and urged losers to work harder in future elections, noting that reports monitored via the mass media clearly attested to the fact that the ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was fully prepared by campaigning vigorously which translated to her landslide victory.
Oghenesivbe, also congratulated the state governor, and leader of the victorious PDP for creating a healthy and conducive environment for all political parties and candidates to test their political sagacity and supremacy in the just concluded council elections, saying that governor Oborevwori had once again demonstrated that he’s truly the governor for all Deltans.
“The local government council elections was a huge success by all standards. Delta youths are now well informed politically, and not ready for empty promises.
“The youths are no longer interested in political thuggery. They are happy with the ruling party, the PDP, because of the speed of work in place to upscale solid infrastructure and socioeconomic development through the MORE agenda of governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
“As a Bureau, we are very happy that the Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the state did the needful to maintain law and order.
“The electoral umpire, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, Dsiec, was seen to be transparent in the electioneering process by arriving all polling units with materials, commenced early accreditation and voting. There was no voters apathy as eligible voters turned out en masse.
“Governor Oborevwori is truly a governor for all Deltans. He not only ensured a free, fair and transparent local government council elections, but also took a step further to lead the PDP, to a landslide victory, pointing to show that 2027 general elections in Delta shall come with pleasant surprises.
“The Bureau congratulates all Chairmen and Councillors Elect for a well deserved victory. The PDP worked very hard which obviously reflected in her landslide victory across the state, ” Oghenesivbe said.
