Obi Wins 4 Of 5 LGA’s As Collation Of Results continues in Delta State

Collation of results of the presidential election across the twenty five local government areas of Delta State has began at the Collation Center, State INEC head office in Asaba, Delta state

Our Correspondent reports that the exercise is being coordinated by the State Collation Officer for Presidential Election, SCOPE, Prof. Owuneri Abraham Georgewill, and had in attendance agents of the various political parties that participated in the election, security agencies, Civil Society Organizations and the media.

 

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in the Saturday’s election, Mr. Peter Obi, won in four of the five local government areas so far collated in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

 

Although the exercise started behind schedule, the Commission had so far announced the results from Ika North East, Ika South, Oshimili North, Ethiope West and Aniocha North local government areas.

 

In the result for Ika North-East as collated by the Electoral Officer, James Olisa, PDP scored Sixteen Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety Six, LP Eight Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty, while APC scored One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Two votes.

In Ika South, Labour Party polled Seventeen Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty Eight votes, PDP Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Eight Five and APC Three Thousand Two Hundred and Ninety votes.

 

In Aniocha North, Labour Party polled Eleven Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Eight votes, PDP Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Three and APC One Thousand One Hundred and Forty Six votes according to the Electoral Officer for the local government area, Mr. Emeke Onyeme.

 

Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi also won the presidential election in Ethiope West. Mrs Josephine Crossdale who collated the result for Ethiope West local government area, gave the scores as Labour Party, Ten Thousand One Hundred and Ninety Nine, PDP Five Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Three and APC Three Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty votes.

 

For Oshimili North results collated by Mr Okonta Emmanuel, Labour Party garnered Fourteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty Nine, PDP Four Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Six, while APC got One Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Eight votes.

 

Meanwhile, the Delta State Collation Officer for the presidential election, Prof. Owuneri Abraham Georgewill, has adjourned for break.
