The Treasurer of Urhobo Progress Union ( UPU) World wide , Olorogun Eunice Daji Okoh (JP) has hailed the people of Udu Kingdom over the successful crowning of their new monarch, HRM Engineer Mike Orugbo, Okporua 1 on Saturday 7th June, 2025.
Okoh who is paternally and maternally related to Udu Kingdom made the commendation in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at a public function on Sunday 8th June, 2025.
Okoh who is also a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ughelli South Local Government Area, gladly noted that the selection and consequent crowning of the new Ovie of Udu Kingdom was done in a short period after the demise of the immediate past Ovie of Udu Kingdom without litigation and bloodshed.
” This is a testament to the fact that we Udu people are civilized and peaceful .” She added.
She was also full of praises for the Otota of Udu Kingdom, High Chief Moses Odibo for peacefully and successfully piloting the affairs of Udu Kingdom till the emergence of HRM Engineer Mike Orugbo Okporua 1 .
Okoh while calling for the quick presentation of staff of office to Okporua 1 , she remarked that the new Ovie of Udu Kingdom is a square peg in a square hole as she gladly remarked that HRM Okporua 1 has a positive pedigree of a modern traditional ruler as she noted that Okporua 1 is well read , a seasoned engineer in the oil industry , influential and well connected .
She then congratulated Okporua 1 just as she prayed for a long peaceful and prosperous reign for the new Ovie of Udu Kingdom.
