The ancient Okpe Community of Oha in Okpe Local Government Area was in a festive mood as Pa Okpinero Esanubi Ugbugbudefe was installed as the Okpako Amua ( eldest person) of the community on Saturday 28th June , 2025.
The event witnessed the presentation of Ovwor ( staff of office) to Pa Ugbugbudefe.
The Chairman of Elders Council of Oha Community, Okakuro Joseph Ekugbere Ejoh who spoke to our correspondent, explained that an Okpako Amua is attained by age and that he must be the eldest male descendant of the community.
Ejoh, a lawyer also disclosed that an Okpako Amua is the head of the community.
The Secretary of Elders Council of the Community, Elder James Ogbogbo spoke in the same vein as he urged the people of Oha Community to support their new Okpako Amua to enable him take the community to greater heights.
The Chief Priest of the community, Jite Okan described Pa Okpinero Esanubi Ugbugbudefe as a honest and God fearing personality just as he stated that the people of Oha Community are happy about his installation as their Okpako Amua.
On his part, the eldest child of Pa Okpinero Esanubi Ugbugbudefe, Anthony expressed gratitude to God for their father to attain the position of the Okpako Amua of the community.
He then wished his father a long , peaceful and prosperous reign.
Pa Okpinero Esanubi Ugbugbudefe in his brief speech stated that it was the blessings of God that made him become the Okpako Amua of Oha Community.

He also praised the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom , HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo ( rtd ) for his good rulership of the kingdom.
The new Okpako Amua of Oha Community also thanked those who contributed to the huge success of the historic event.
High point of the event was the installation of Pa Okpinero Esanubi Ugbugbudefe as the Okpako Amua of Oha Community by the Duke of Oreorokpe, Prince Godwin Ejiyeren who was a former Chairman of Oha Progress Union, Executive Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council and presently
the Chairman of Warri, Uvwie Environs Special Development Agency (WUEADA).
The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom was ably represented by Okakuro Best Umukoro at the occasion.
A highly esteemed Okpe chief in Oha Community, Okakuro Ifode Anthony, former Secretary General of Oha Progress Union, Solomon Erharine among others were spotted at the epoch making event.
