The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Honourable Anthony Ofoni, has been recognized as a pragmatic leader for his outstanding humanitarian work in Uvwie, Delta State and beyond.
The recognition was made during a courtesy visit of the Phoebe Sisters foundation to the council chairman.
Honourable Anthony Ofoni while receiving the award commended the Phoebe Sisters’ Foundation, stating that their humanitarian work aligns with the agenda of Delta State Governor Rt Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori .
He noted that their contributions to society are exemplary and advised others to emulate their efforts.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the foundation for recognizing him with the pragmatic leadership award .
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation,the President Mrs Faith Omoregie said Honorable Anthony Ofoni’s agenda, which prioritizes women and children, aligns with their Foundation’s goals and as such, they deemed it fit to recognize him as the most pragmatic leader in Uvwie local government area.
Mrs Omoregie highlighted some of the contributions of Honorable Anthony Ofoni that drew their attention as the Iteregbi Cottage Hospital, Ugboroko modern Market, and the fencing of the Effurun market for safety purposes.
The president of the Foundation said the courtesy visit to the Chairman of Uvwie Council was to acknowledge his efforts in improving society.
She noted that the Foundation is a non-governmental organization affiliated with FIDA Faith Foundation Canada that believes in Good Governance, Contributing to the society by caring for Women and children.
