A respected Uvwie chief, Rotarian Sunny Popo ,JP has been installed as the 6th President of Rotary Club of Ogunu a humanitarian club.
The investiture and installation ceremony of Rotarian Sunny Popo took place at Ogunu,Warri South local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday 2nd September, 2023 .
In his welcome address, the Chairman Installation Committee, Rtn Newton Ayiwe noted that the task before the newly installed President of Rotary Club of Ogunu was enormous and therefore solicited for financial support for Rtn Sunny Popo to execute his star projects.
The Chairman of the epoch making event, High Chief Henry Urumedji spoke in the same vein as he spoke volumes of the goodness of Rotarian Sunny Popo to humanity ” So I am not surprise why he was elected as the president of your international humanitarian club. ” he added.
He noted that the star projects of free medical outreach and beautification and construction of NPA Roundabout, were projects laudable and that they require a lot of money to execute and stated that Rotary club of Ogunu needed financial support to execute the projects.
The immediate past President of Rotary Club Ogunu, Rtn Michael Emeke Odili was also full of praises for his successor as a outgone member of the board in charge of execution of projects.
While he listed the achievements he recorded, he urged members and friends of the club to extend the support given to him to Rotarian Sunny Popo just as he prayed that he should be more successful than himself.
In his acceptance speech, the new president of Rotary Club ,Ogunu Rotarian Sunny Popo ,JP thanked members of the club for giving him the opportunity to serve as President just as he solicited for financial support from members and friends to enable him execute his star projects.
The installation ceremony featured Award presentations to some distinguished personalities and Rotarians as well as unveiling of Boards of Directors of the club for the 2023/24 appreciation Year
