Christians have been charged to always give God thanks in order to attract more blessings from him.
The parish priest of St Jude’s Catholic Church Effurun,Very Reverend father Mark Omorovie Ikeke gave the advice Sunday December 1,2024 during the 79th Birth Anniversary thanksgiving of the queen of Uvwie Kingdom , HRH Patricia Sideso also known as Nene R’ Uvwie .
The Parish Priest of St Jude’s Catholic Church Effurun Very Reverend father Mark Ikeke in his homily titled ‘justice and righteous” enjoined Public office holders and traditional leaders to be just in all they do especially the political leaders, stressing that they should be accountable and provide good governance to the people that elected them .
Very Revd Father Ikeke thanked the Queen of Uvwie kingdom , Nene R’ Uvwie for giving thanks to God on her 79th birthday ,urging her to continue to support the Uvwie monarch, Abe the first in attracting development to the kingdom.
The Parish Priest asked the church to pray that God continues to give Her good health and long life.
The Uvwie monarch,the Pere of Akugbene -mein kingdom,the Oroseun of Okere Urhobo kingdom , member Representing Uvwie constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Edafe Emuakpor, the Uvwie local government chairman, chief Anthony Ofoni, amongst others joined Nene R’ Uvwie to the altar to give God thanks.
At the place of the Ovie of Uvwie Abe I, where a reception was held in the honour of Nene R’uvwie, the Pere of Akugbeene -mein kingdom, kalanama the eight also prayed God to bless the queen of Uvwie kingdom .
Others who spoke including the member representing Uvwie constituency in the state house of Assembly,Hon. Edafe Emuakpor,the chairman of Uvwie local government, chief Anthony Ofoni amongst others congratulated Nene R’ Uvwie as she marked her 79th birthday.
The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom,HRM Dr Emmanuel Sideso JP, OON Abe I, read a special message he wrote to his wife the queen of Uvwie to the admiration of all at the palace .
The 79th birthday celebration of Nene R’ Uvwie featured a special dance by the Royal couple.
