Dr Oyovwi Welcomes New Students At 47th NCE, 35th Weekend NCE Matriculation Ceremony

The College of Education, Warri on Wednesday celebrated its 47th Regular NCE and 35th Weekend NCE matriculation ceremony.

 

The provost of the college of Education Warri Dr Dickson Oyovwi congratulated the matriculating students of the college and charged them to be studious .

 

Dr  Oyovwi gave the charge while addressing an audience filled with staff, dignitaries, parents, and the newly admitted students at the college Hall.

 

In his address,  Dr Oyovwi expressed deep pride and gratitude for the occasion, marking the formal induction of 384 bright and determined students into the institution’s rich tradition of teacher education.

He emphasized that the matriculating students are not just entering an academic program but are becoming part of a community dedicated to scholarship, discipline, leadership, and service to humanity.

 

Dr Dickson Oyovwi urged students to embody diligence, integrity, and excellence throughout their time at the college. He highlighted the institution’s ongoing commitment to producing competent teachers capable of driving national transformation through quality education.

The Provost of the college of Education Warri Dr Dickson Oyovwi announced significant advancements, including the near-completion of a new 1,600-capacity student hostel and the implementation of the Dual Mandate Programme by the Delta State Government, stressing that the Governor Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has continue to support the growth of the institution.

 

This innovative initiative will enable students to complete their NCE training and seamlessly transition into a Bachelor of Education program, graduating with both qualifications. 

He expressed gratitude to UPU America,the Chairman of Tantita Security services  High Chief Tompolo , Chief Kestin Pondi ,the Olu of Warri, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and the Ovie of Agbarha Warri kingdom for their support in promoting indigenous language courses and called on other stakeholders to collaborate in enhancing educational opportunities within the college.

 

He also thanked Chief Barry Gbe for attracting solar lights to the institution.

As he prepares to conclude his tenure as Provost in June, he reflected on the transformative strides the college has made under his leadership, emphasizing that while leadership may be transient, the institution’s legacy will endure.

In closing, the Provost congratulated all matriculating students and encouraged them to uphold the values of scholarship, discipline, and service during their time at the College of Education, Warri.

The Registrar of the college Mr Afure Joe also admonished the matriculating students to obey the institution’s rules and regulations if they want to graduate from the College.
