Rotary Club of Effurun City centre has installed Rotarian Igho Sharp Ighomrore as the 5th President of the club.
Rotary international District 9141 Governor, Rotarian Anthony Woghiren who witnessed the installation called on members of the club to support the newly installed President to enable him to succeed in his one year tenure .

Speaking during the installation of Rotarian Igho Sharp Ighomrore,Rotary international District 9141 Governor, Rotarian Anthony Woghiren represented by Assistant District Governor zone 7, Rotarian Kenneth Iyere reminded the President and members of the club of the District PET project of the year which is water for all and urged them to provide Potable drinking water to communities that lack water in their mandate areas .
Rotarian Iyere advised the club President to take advantage of the District grant to embark on meaningful projects .
For his part the newly installed President of Rotary Club of Effurun City centre Rotarian Igho Sharp Ighomrore said he is proud to accept the mantle of leadership of the club as the 5th President and pledged not to betray the trust reposed on him.
Rotarian Ighomrore also pledged to embark on Projects that will address the seven areas of focus of Rotary international.
He revealed that the Club has Earmarked the sum of Ten million Naira to execute the projects for the year 2025/2026.
The 5th President of Rotary Club of Effurun City centre also revealed that the star project of the club is the provision of a solar Borehole at Alaka community in Uvwie local government area.
Rotarian Ighomrore appealed to Rotarians and friends of the club to donate generously to support the execution of the projects.
Earlier the fourth and Immediate Past President of the Club ,Rotarian Darlington Odogwu thanked the club members for their support during his tenure and urged them to give the same support to the newly installed President.
He highlighted some of the Projects embarked by the club during his tenure to include Distribution of pregnancy kits to expectant mothers in Otokutu, Osubi, and Alaka primary health care centers,
Provision of educational items and materials to students of Ogbe Secondary School, Contributing to End Polio campaign and supporting polio eradication efforts with District 9141,Participating in Food, Medical, and Clothing Distributions to the people of Omadino community, Rehabilitation of Toilets in Ogbe Secondary School amongst others.
He commended management of Wellington Hotels Limited for generously providing one of their halls as venue for the club’s fellowship.
The guest speaker Past Assistant Governor , Rotarian Peter Nwaochie spoke on who is a Rotarian as well as what Rotary does in the society.
He disclosed that Rotarians are individuals from diverse backgrounds who are committed to ethical conduct and community service, striving to make a positive impact both locally and internationally.
The event featured handover of leadership baton ,Donation towards the execution of service projects amongst others.
