Rotary Club of Ubeji has installed Rotarian Daniel Ololo as the 16th President with a pledge to lead a united and service-driven club that creates sustainable change in communities across Warri and environs.
The installation ceremony, held in Warri ,warri South local Government Area of Delta state marked the beginning of the Tenure of Rotarian Ololo for 2026-2027 Rotary year themed “Create Lasting Impact.”
Outlining his vision, the new president said he will lead a vibrant club focused on tangible interventions in maternal and child health, education, youth and economic empowerment, water and sanitation, environmental sustainability, and peace building.
He cited ongoing and planned projects including the “From Dust To Desk” initiative to improve learning environments, maternal and child health outreaches in Ode-Itsekiri and Orugbo Communities, water projects, skills development, and community-based programs.
“Our success will be measured by the number of lives we touch and the difference those interventions make,” he stated.
Rtn. Ololo emphasized building a club where every member feels valued and involved, and called for stronger partnerships with other Rotary Clubs, government agencies, traditional institutions, NGOs and corporate organizations.
“Rotary cannot do everything alone. We need partnerships with those who share our commitment to service,” he added.
He expressed gratitude to members of the club, past presidents, District Governor Rtn. Tony Olikagu, the District 9141 leadership, his immediate predecessor, family, friends, sponsors and well-wishers for their support.

The new president , Rotarian Daniel Ololo urged members to work together to ensure the club’s legacy goes beyond events.
“At the end of this Rotary year, I want us to say: We changed lives. We educated a child. We supported a mother. We empowered a young person. We improved a community. And above all, we left something better than we found it,” he stated
For his part ,Outgoing President of the Rotary Club of Ubeji, Rotarian Emiko Akpita, said it was a privilege to serve alongside committed Rotarians who exemplify the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”.
Rotarian Akpita disclosed that the club invested over N8 million across Rotary’s Areas of Focus during the year.
According to him, flagship projects included a solar-powered borehole at Ubeji Grammar School, donation of life-saving neonatal equipment to Central Hospital Warri, the WAEC Education Support Programme, the Green Future environmental initiative, peace and polio awareness programmes, and collaborative projects with sister clubs.
The outgoing president said the club also strengthened its structure by chartering the Rotary Club of Warri Trailblazer and establishing the Interact Club of Egbokodo Secondary School.
Rotarian Akpita noted that the club achieved 100% member participation, exceeded its Annual Fund goal, met its PolioPlus target, celebrated a new Major Donor, and recognized six new Paul Harris Fellows.
He expressed gratitude to members, partners, sponsors and friends for their support, with special appreciation to the immediate Past Rotary international District 9141 Governor Rotarian Anthony Woghiren,Past President and Major Donor Rtn. Emmanuel Etsano, All membersof the Club ,his family for their sacrifice and congratulated the incoming President, Rtn. Daniel Ololo, expressing confidence that he would take the club to greater heights.
Earlier the Installation and Fundraising Chairman,Rotarian Emmanuel Etsano appealed for donations towards the
club’s fundraising of N15 million for education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene , WASH interventions in Warri schools, under its “Dust to Desk” initiative aimed at creating lasting impact in communities.
He said the club will provide classroom furniture to Atuwatse II Secondary School, Ifie, and Obodo Secondary School, where many students currently learn under difficult conditions due to inadequate desks and chairs.
The club also plans to rehabilitate dilapidated classrooms to transform neglected learning spaces into environments where children can “learn with dignity, confidence and hope.”
“We will also execute a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project at Egbokodo Secondary School, ensuring that students have access to clean water and improved sanitation,” he said.
He noted that the club’s commitment to service is already underway in partnership with the Rotary Club of Warri Trailblazer,adding that the club recently provided critical medical supplies to pregnant women in Ode-Itsekiri and Orugbo communities.
The fundraising chair appealed to corporate organisations, philanthropists, community leaders and friends of Rotary to support the campaign generously.
Rotarian Etsano also congratulated the incoming President, Rtn. Daniel Ololo, expressing confidence that the club will continue to excel under his leadership and assuring him of “unwavering support.”
The immediate Past Rotary international District 9141 Governor Rotarian Anthony Woghiren commended members of the club for their contributions to Rotary foundation and for executing life touching Projects in their mandated areas .
The installation of Rotarian Daniel Ololo as the 16th President of Rotary club of Ubeji featured induction of new members , Inauguration of Board of Directors, launching/fundraising of community service Projects, cutting of cake amongst others.
The ceremony was attended by Past District Governors, District leaders, Past Presidents, Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors and guests.
