The immediate past President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union( UGIU) Chief Austin Tivere Ukuwrere has hailed HRM Clement Oghenekevwe Ikolo the Ovie of Ewu Urhobo on Delta State Government approval of staff of office.
This is contained in a statement issued by Ukuwrere who is gunning for the Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship seat under the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in Effurun at the weekend.
Ukuwrere who bears the title of Ugo ( Eagle ) of Uvwie Kingdom applauded the Delta State Executive Council for the approval just as he noted that the approval was a welcome development to well meaning indigenes of Ewu Urhobo Kingdom and friends of the kingdom.
Ukuwrere expressed confidence that the traditional ruler will not only be an asset to the Ewu Urhobo Kingdom but to Delta State owing to his credentials and wealth of experience ” The Ewu Urhobo people should count themselves lucky to have HRM Clement Oghenekevwe Ikolo as their king ” the statement added
The statement called on dessenting voices in Ewu Urhobo Kingdom to have a rethink and also thank God and Delta State Government for the official recognition of their monarch.
The statement recalled that before the approval, issues raised on the ovieship tussle were thoroughly investigated by Ughelli South Tradititioal Rulers Council whose members he said were grounded with the customs of installation of traditional rulers
Ukuwrere however advised those that were opposed to the approval, to see it as an act of God and not to take laws into their hands or resort to intimidation and blackmail.
