The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has described the Igbo community resident in the council area as entrepreneurial, industrious, and valuable economic assets for bringing their businesses and industrial ingenuity to Aniocha South.
Chukwunwike made this remark on Monday, August 25, 2025, while receiving a delegation of executive members of the Igbo community in his Ogwashi-Uku office. He commended their resilience, stressing that the collaboration and partnership between Aniocha South and non-indigenes would be sustained.
He encouraged the community to continue to be good ambassadors of their ethnic origin, reminding them that the best legacy anyone can leave behind is a good name. The council boss also appreciated them for recognizing his administration’s commitment to credible and impactful leadership, assuring that more transformative programmes and initiatives designed to better lives are underway.
Earlier in his address, the leader of the Igbo community, Chief Peter Chukwuemeka, explained that their visit was to appreciate the cordial relationship existing between the council and the Igbo residents. He noted that the recent appointment of an Igbo son, Mr. Chiedu Okonkwor, as Special Assistant in the council, was a clear demonstration of inclusiveness deserving of accolades.
Chief Chukwuemeka also thanked the chairman for providing an enabling environment for business to thrive, particularly in Ogwashi-Uku’s Afor Market and across Aniocha South.
He pledged the community’s continued support, affirming: “Wherever your political train goes, is where we will pitch our tent.”
In a vote of thanks, the Secretary of the Council, Hon. Prince Tony K Ebube, expressed gratitude to the delegation for deeming it fit to appreciate the council’s goodwill, describing the visit as a gesture of mutual respect and partnership.
Also present at the meeting were; the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue, alongside other council appointees. Community leaders in attendance included Chief Sir Nath Nwabueze, Chief Sir S.O. Okwara, Chief Okey George, Chief D. Ikejioku, as well as Mr. Charles Chiedu, Mr. Nwagwu Celestine, and Hon. Kenneth Izuorah.
