Uvwie Monarch Charges Political Leaders On Good Governance

HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has charged political leaders on good governance.

This was contained in his thought provoking remarks during the triple celebration of his 80th birthday anniversary, 78th birthday anniversary of his wife HRH Queen Patricia Sideso JP the Nene R Uvwie Kingdom and the 55th years anniversary of their marriage on Tuesday 19th December, 2023.
” Good good governance is a function of participatory democracy, transparency, accountability, rule of law, responsiveness and inclusiveness” he posited.

The highly esteemed tradititioal ruler had called on leaders in Nigeria to speak out and take courage to stand up against evil practices, institutional malfunction, flagrant injustice and every situation of cultural decline in the society .

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom also posited that for Nigeria to maximize her rich potentials, ” We need good governance that has the political will and capacity to mobilize and motivate the citizens in the best direction possible.

” In the same vein, sound economic policies and proper utilization of state resources is paramount in any governance that seek to foster strong and equitable development ” he added
The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom however concluded his remarks with some words of encouragement. ” My fellow Nigerians , let ‘ s soar on the wings of liberty and trace the perfect angle to tackle the vagaries of life.
” It is not time to dispair; it is a time to intensify prayers, close ranks, forgive one another and forge ahead, insisting on victory.
” After all , the darkest hour of the night comes just before dawn .
” Failure is only fatal when lose the courage to persevere ” he added
