The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, on Tuesday joined other stakeholders in Asaba for the ongoing 2026 Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, where Governor Sheriff Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to diversifying the state’s economy beyond oil.
Hon. Andaye participated in the day-two session of the summit held at the Government House, Asaba, which focused on attracting local and foreign investment into agriculture, energy, mining, livestock, the blue economy, digital economy and other critical sectors.

Speaking after the summit, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye commended Governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to repositioning Delta State through deliberate economic diversification.
He described the summit as a bold and transformative initiative that has inspired renewed investor confidence and created a clear roadmap for sustainable economic growth, industrial development, job creation and inclusive prosperity across the state
Earlier,Declaring the summit closed, Governor Oborevwori stressed that Delta State can no longer depend solely on oil revenue and urged investors to take advantage of opportunities in key areas capable of driving sustainable growth, employment and shared prosperity.

“The summit was intentionally designed as a private sector-driven initiative aimed at connecting investors with bankable opportunities, while the government serves as an enabler through improved infrastructure, supportive policies, security and policy consistency,” the governor said.
He disclosed that the state has secured strategic parcels of land and embarked on investment roadshows to China and Brazil to market Delta’s economic potentials to global investors.

According to Oborevwori, the summit has evolved beyond policy discussions into a practical investment platform where partnerships are forged and commitments translated into concrete projects.
“I am optimistic that the ideas and collaborations from this summit will accelerate industrialisation, expand employment opportunities and further establish Delta State as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations,” he added.
During panel sessions, stakeholders identified agriculture, livestock, mining, the blue economy and legal reforms as priority sectors for sustainable investment.
