The Delta State Community in the Federal Capital Territory has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on the successful hosting of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, while calling for a Town Hall Meeting with Deltans resident in Abuja to strengthen engagement and partnership.
In a press conference held in Abuja on Wednesday, President of the Delta State Community FCT, Olorogun B. O. Nafagha, described the summit held from August 3rd to 5th, 2026, as a strategic platform for the economic transformation of the state.
“The summit represents an important step in positioning the state as an attractive destination for investment, entrepreneurship, industrial development and sustainable economic growth,” Nafagha said.
He commended the Governor and his administration for bringing together investors, business leaders, development partners, and other stakeholders to explore opportunities for the state’s advancement, noting that the platform “connects vision with opportunity.”
The community expressed optimism that the summit would translate into tangible benefits including increased domestic and foreign investments, job creation, expansion of businesses, improved infrastructure, stronger public-private partnerships, increased government revenue, and greater opportunities for youths and entrepreneurs.
“We particularly look forward to seeing these opportunities flow across the various communities in the three senatorial districts of Delta State,” Nafagha stated. “Thus, the Ukodo is ready for eating.”

While commending the Governor, the Delta community in the FCT appealed to Oborevwori to convene a Town Hall Meeting with Deltans in Abuja.
Nafagha said since the Governor assumed office, the FCT community feels it has not received the level of direct engagement and consultation it deserves.
He said such a meeting would enable Deltans in Abuja to hear directly from the Governor on his administration’s achievements and development priorities, understand how opportunities from the summit can benefit Deltans at home and abroad, and contribute ideas for the development of the state.
“It would also explore ways professionals and investors in Abuja can support the state’s economic agenda and strengthen unity and collaboration among Deltans in the FCT,” he added.
The community noted that Deltans resident outside the state comprise professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, civil servants and technocrats who can contribute significantly to the Governor’s development agenda if deliberately engaged.
“We therefore respectfully request a Town Hall Meeting with His Excellency at a mutually convenient date and venue in Abuja. This is a call for inclusion, dialogue and partnership,” Nafagha said.
The group pledged its readiness to support any initiative that promotes the progress, unity and prosperity of Delta State, and expressed hope for an early opportunity to engage directly with the Governor on the path of progress ahead.
