The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom, HRM(Dr) Emmanuel E.Sideso JP OON Abe I has thanked God Almighty for his goodness to him ,the Royal family and the good people of Uvwie kingdom.
He enjoined the people of Uvwie to continue to sustain the peace in the kingdom inorder to attract more development.
Uvwie Monarch made the statements while addressing members of the various etches in the kingdom when they paid him homage to mark his 17th Coronation Anniversary.
The event took place at his palace in Effurun GRA , Uvwie local government area of Delta State.
Uvwie kingdom has nine etches(quarters )namely, Etche R’ Ugbomro , Etche R’Ogbe, Etche R’Erovie, Etche R’ Alegbo, Etche R’Ekpan, Etche R’ Ugboroke,Etche R’ Owori, Etche R’ Oriokpor, and Etche R’ Ohorhe
Each etche is headed by an Unuevworo who is the eyes of the monarch is his domain .
However, the creation of etche is to make the administration of the monarch convenient for dissemination of information and bringing traditional governance to all nooks and crannies of the kingdom.
One after the other the etche led by their
Inuevworo paid homage to the Ovie of Uvwie thanking God for giving him good health and the wisdom to pilot the affairs of Uvwie kingdom in the past 17 years.
The people danced to entertain the King with elegant dance steps and cultural songs as they paid their allegiance to the King’s reign on the exalted throne and presented various items including native food stuffs.
They pledged their loyalty to the Uvwie throne and the monarch.
They also assured to sustain the existing peace in the kingdom and wished the Monarch a long life, good health and wisdom to continue to lead them .
In his remarks the Uvwie Monarch Abe I flanked by his Queen, Nene R’ Uvwie
while thanking the chiefs and people of Uvwie for sustaining the peace ,highlighted some of his achievements to include the building of a befitting permanent Palace for Uvwie kingdom, 6 one bedroom en-suites for guests and aides, education and scholarship scheme established in 2009, Teaching of Uvwie dialect, creation of more Etches , and winning of a case against Nigerian Army over the illegally occupied land at Ohorhe amongst others.
The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom offered prayers to the people and Uvwie land .
The 17th Coronation Anniversary of the Uvwie monarch was attended by Uvwie local government chairman Chief Anthony Ofoni, the PDP leader in Uvwie local government area,Chief Solomon Ighrakpata , immediate past chairman of Uvwie local government ,Chief Ramson Onoyake ,the Ovie of Agbraha Warri kingdom amongst others.
