HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe l the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has created Delta State Property Development Authority ( DDPA ) Community in Etche R Ugboroke ( traditional administrative unit )in Uvwie Kingdom.
This was contained in his key note address on the settlement of a communal dispute between Ugberikoko and Ugboridjo communities in Etche R Ugboroke in an enlarged meeting that comprised a cross section of Uvwie Kingdom, government security agents and the press at the ultra modern palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Thursday 15th May , 2025.
The Uvwie monarch noted that only Ugboridjo community had been recognized by the palace.
Abe 1 therefore frawned at the creation of Ugboridjo Community ( with the inclusion of DDPA ) by the immediate past Uvwie Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Ramson Tega Onoyake , as he stressed that it is only the traditional institution that has the perogative to create communities in Uvwie Kingdom and not the local government council.
The traditional ruler also explained that creation of communities was for administrative purposes and that it has nothing to do with the ownership of land or delineation of electoral wards or units by Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) or Uvwie Local Government Council, just as he disclosed that more communities will be created for administrative purposes in Uvwie Kingdom.
The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom then read the report of the committee/ panel that was constituted to look into the dispute as the report noted among other things that the issue of ownership of land dispute between Ugberikoko and Ugboridjo is a matter of law that ” can only be pronounced upon with a finality in the courts”
Parts of the address of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom read thus : ‘ The Ogwuedion ( traditional council ) through this arbitration process, also recognize the existence of DDPA Estate Community as a distinct community in Uvwie Local Government Area.
The DDPA Estate shall be constituted and comprised of residents of the DDPA Estate and shall remain an integral part of Etche R’ Ugboroke under the authority of the Unuevworo, Usiavwe and Esirierha of Ugboroke Etche.
‘ The leadership of Ugberikoko, Ugboridjo and that of DDPA Estate communities are enjoined to respect extant laws and not engage in any extortion or exploitation action prohibited by laws of Delta State.
