Hon. Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, the member representing Warri South-West state constituency, has been elected as the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly
The new Speaker was unanimously endorsed as the chairman of the 8th Delta Assembly on Tuesday.
Also the House also elected Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, member representing Ethiope East constituency, as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Hon Guwor is a second timer having been elected as a member representing Warri South-West in 2019
Both Guwor and Akpowowo were immediately sworn-in by the Acting Clerk who administered the relevant oaths.
Their election followed the proclamation of the 8th Assembly by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori via a letter addressed to the Acting Clerk, Otto Aghoghovwia of the House.
Guwor would be succeeding Oborevwori who is now governor of the state.
