Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, has paid glowing tribute to late Mr. Bishop Osita Nwigum, a Department of State Services, DSS, officer attached to Government House, Asaba, describing him as a disciplined, loyal, and committed officer who served with uncommon integrity and professionalism.
The Governor, represented by the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, made the remarks on Friday, June 26, 2026, during the funeral mass and burial of the late officer at Nwofe, Enyanwuigwe Agbaja, his hometown in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Governor Oborevwori noted that though Nwigum’s journey on earth was short, it was filled with impactful service, unwavering dedication to duty, and a life worthy of emulation.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Hon. Andaye conveyed Oborevwori’s appreciation for the exemplary service and sacrifices rendered by the deceased while serving at Government House, Asaba. He said the late officer’s commitment and loyalty to the state would continue to inspire those who worked with him.

The solemn ceremony drew family members, government officials, security personnel, colleagues, friends, and sympathizers who gathered to honour the memory of the late DSS officer remembered for his dedication, loyalty, and selfless service to the nation.
Governor Oborevwori extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the leadership and personnel of the DSS, and all those affected by the loss. He prayed that Almighty God would grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give his family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hon. Andaye was accompanied by Hon. Preye Okaba and Hon. Demes Yinkore, who joined other dignitaries and mourners in celebrating the life and legacy of the late officer while offering support and sympathies to the grieving family.
The Governor further encouraged the family to find solace in the remarkable legacy of honour, dedication, and faithful service left behind by their beloved son.
