Rotary Club of Ogunu, District 9141 has installed as its 7th President, Rotarian Newton Ayiwe for the 2024/2025 Rotary year.

Our correspondent report that the investiture of Rotarian Newton Ayiwe saw Presentation of Interest free loans to empower Five Petty Traders as the club kickstart projects worth over 13 million naira for the Rotary year.

The installation of Rotarian Newton Ayiwe as the 7th President of Rotary Club of Ogunu under District 9141 stems from Rotary internationals smooth leadership transition.

It was also an avenue to launch the club’s service projects for the year, which are inline with Rotary international seven areas of focus which includes, Economic empowerment, child and maternal health care, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation amongst others.


The chairman of the installation committee, Rotarian Osamuyi Omorkha While welcoming guests said Rotary international as a service rendering organization through its leadership had continue to steady its course towards humanitarian work for mankind.

The outgoing President, Rotarian Popo on his part appreciated members of the Club for their support during his tenure .

He adding that during the 2023/2024 Rotary year he was able to complete legacy projects most especially the provisions of glasses to persons with eye challenges amongst other projects that falls under the seven areas of Rotary’s International focus .

Newly Installed President of Rotary Club of Ogunu Rotarian Newton Ayiwe appreciated Rotarians for the confidence they reposed in him.

He added that driven by determination to serve humanity, Rotary has given him a huge platform of men and women of like-minds to expand the reach to more underprivileged in the society.

Reeling out the projects and programmes of the club which amount to over 13 million naira, Rotarian Ayiwe called for support from Rotarians, friends and well meaning Nigerians to see to the realization of the Projects.

The installation which was attended by Rotarians ,captains of industry, chairman of the Board of Directors of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Chief Moses Odibo , a retired Assistant General Manager of the Station, Chief Ochuko Orogun , Evangelist Johnbull Marere as well as members of the Ogunu olf Club, saw the induction of new members and fund raising for the club’s project.

Awards of excellence for the advancement of humanity were presented to distinguished personalities including members of the Board of Directors of Rotary Club of Ogunu 2023/2024 Rotary year .

Highpoint was the handing over of leadership from Rotarian Sunny Popo to Rotarian Newton Ayiwe the 7th President of Rotary Club of Ogunu.
