St. Stephens Anglican Church Effurun Celebrates Annual Harvest Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has been described as an application to receive more blessings from God .

The statement was made by Venerable B. E Akpoguma Guest preacher at the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving of St. Stephens Anglican Church Jakpa Road Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State held on Sunday November, 13,2022.

Venerable Akpoguma urged members of the church and guests to continue to praise God for his grace and mercy upon them .

Speaking on the theme of the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving “Harvest of Praise , Ven. Akpoguma read the book of Psalm 67:3-7 to explain further the importance of Praises to God .

 

Earlier the vicar of the Church , Ven Friday Ejemrae had encouraged the members of the church to give thanks to God Almighty at every given time.

During the harvest Thanksgiving the various church prayer meetings sang and danced to the alter to drop their offerings to God , thanking God Almighty for his blessings ,protection and for keeping them alive to see another Annual Harvest Thanksgiving .

 

The committee chairman of the Annual Harvest Thanksgiving ESV. Samuel Irori congratulated members of the church for witnessing another harvest Thanksgiving and encouraged them to donate generously towards the development of the church.

Also speaking the Harvest Thanksgiving Chairman Engr.Isaac Omajajah said harvest is a day ordained to observe thanksgiving from the depth of the hearts of christians .

Engr Omajajah who noted that the Nigerian economy is in a doldrums urged members of the church to give to God good returns within their means without concealing a grudge .

“As you invest your time , energy and resources in today’s harvest May you be blessed in the Desert even in tough times “he said .

Others who spoke during the harvest Thanksgiving including the chairman Disciple Men Prayer meeting meeting , Mr Johnson Agbofode , chairperson Deborah prayer meeting , Mrs Grace Egara , Chairperson Eguono prayer meeting Mrs Grace Okpako amongst others also encouraged members of the church to contribute their quota to the development of the church during the fund raising ceremony.

During the Fund raising ceremony that took place immediately after the harvest Thanksgiving ,
members of the church donated generously inorder for the church to complete ongoing projects.
