Urhobos of Warri Political Class( UWPC ) has declared its support for all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.
This was contained in a statement issued by UWPC after its general meeting held at Ogwan R’ Olodi ( Olodi Hall ) Otor – rere headquarters of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri South Local Government Area on Saturday 7th January, 2023.
In the statement signed by the leader of the group Reverend Canon David Otofia and the Deputy Leader of the group Chief Vincent Okudolor , the group noted that PDP was the only political party that can be trusted with the interest of the Urhobos of Warri in politics.
The statement also explained that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ‘ s patronage for Urhobos of Warri in terms of empowerment and infrastructural development was another reason for supporting the PDP
” We ( Urhobos of Warri ) have never have it so good ” the statement added.
UWPC however called for equality in sharing of appointment and elective positions among the indigenous ethnic groups in Warri South Local Government Area.
The statement further sued for unity among the Urhobos of Warri in order to achieve their political course in the local government area.
