The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has commended the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for convening the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, describing it as a bold and visionary initiative aimed at expanding the state’s economic frontiers through strategic domestic and foreign investments.

Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the summit in Asaba on Wednesday, Chukwunwike expressed delight at the impressive turnout of renowned investors, business leaders, development partners and captains of industry who gathered to explore the enormous investment opportunities across Delta State.

According to him, the summit represents more than a gathering of investors.” It is a strategic economic platform deliberately designed to diversify the state’s economy, strengthen private sector participation, attract long term capital, and accelerate inclusive growth that will benefit present and future generations of Deltans”.
He noted that Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated uncommon foresight by connecting global investment capital with the abundant natural, human and commercial resources of Delta State, thereby positioning the state as one of Nigeria’s most attractive destinations for sustainable investment.
“The Governor is laying the foundation for a resilient and competitive economy where investment drives industrialisation, entrepreneurship, employment generation and shared prosperity. This summit is an investment in the future of Delta State,” Chukwunwike stated.

The council chairman expressed confidence that the investment commitments emerging from the summit would stimulate significant economic activities, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, boost internally generated revenue, deepen value chains, encourage technology transfer and improve the standard of living of the people.

He urged prospective investors to take advantage of the vast opportunities available in the state’s oil and gas sector, agriculture, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, renewable energy, power, blue economy, tourism, solid minerals, textile production, agro processing and the various Free Trade Zones strategically located across Delta State.

Highlighting the immense potential of Aniocha South, Chukwunwike described the local government as one of Delta’s emerging investment destinations with fertile agricultural land, rich natural vegetation, thriving commercial markets and a hardworking population capable of supporting large scale agricultural and industrial investments.

He particularly invited investors to explore the vast oil palm plantations in Nsukwa, reputed to be among the largest in West Africa, as well as other agricultural value chains that possess enormous potential for food production, agro industrial processing, exports and wealth creation.

The chairman further appealed to indigenous entrepreneurs and local investors to complement the efforts of government by bringing their investments home, stressing that sustainable economic transformation requires strong partnerships between government, the private sector and local communities.

Addressing concerns about security, Chukwunwike assured investors that Delta State and Aniocha South have continued to record significant progress in safeguarding lives, property and investments through robust collaboration among government, security agencies, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and local vigilante structures.
He explained that the multidimensional security architecture being strengthened by Governor Oborevwori at the state level, alongside proactive security initiatives of the Aniocha South Local Government, has substantially improved the investment climate and enhanced public confidence.
“Our administration has continued to invest in peace and security because no economy can thrive without stability. Investors can undertake legitimate businesses with confidence, knowing that government remains committed to protecting lives, property and investments,” he said.
Chukwunwike reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to complementing Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda by implementing people centred policies, improving critical infrastructure, promoting agricultural productivity, supporting enterprise development and creating an enabling environment that attracts investments capable of expanding economic opportunities for the people of Aniocha South.
He maintained that with visionary leadership, policy consistency and sustained public private collaboration, Delta State is steadily positioning itself as a leading investment hub in Nigeria and a model of inclusive and sustainable economic development.
