Ubeji Grammar School has emerged victorious in the Rotary Club of Ubeji Environmental Quiz competition.
The environmental quiz competition was Organized in partnership with the Tanro Environmental Foundation.
The event aimed to sensitize students on environmental conservation and hygiene.
Rotary Club of Ubeji, in collaboration with the Tanro Environmental Foundation, planted trees at Egbokodo Secondary School as part of its mandate to protect local communities.
The Environmental quiz competition saw a keen contest between the Interact Clubs of Ubeji Grammar School, Best Group of Schools, and Egbokodo Secondary School.
At the final tally, Ubeji Grammar School secured first place, followed by Best Group of Schools in second, and Egbokodo Secondary School in third.

Participating teachers, including Mrs. Christine Akinyemi, Stella Ejeh, and Mrs. Millicent Iguodala, praised the initiative.
They noted that the students gained vital knowledge regarding the consequences of environmental neglect and thanked the organizers for the opportunity.

Representing the President of the Rotary Club of Ubeji, Rotarian Emiko Akpita, Past President and Assistant District Governor Designate Rotarian Orode Hesse emphasized that the project aligns with Rotary International’s focus on environmental protection.

While presenting prizes, Hesse reiterated Rotary’s commitment to ecological sustainability and the conservation of natural resources.
For her part the founder of Tanro Environmental Foundation, Rotarian Maris Ofogharenor, spoke on the urgency of maintaining a clean environment. She explained that her NGO focuses on reducing pollution and fostering eco-friendly habits.

To support this, the foundation and Rotary Club of Ubeji donated waste bins to all participating schools to aid waste management.
The event concluded with a ceremonial tree planting led by club officials, Founder of Tanro environmental foundation, students, and teachers.
