Rotary Club of Effurun Dynasty has donated Maternal and Child Health delivery Kits to Ugboroke Health Care Centre to support expectant mothers and newborns in the community.
Speaking during the presentation held on the 29th of July , President of the Club, Rotarian Michael Evwerhamre, said the initiative was in line with Rotary’s focus on maternal and child health.
“Rotary’s focus on maternal and child health is driven by one conviction: that every mother deserves a safe delivery, and every child deserves a healthy start to life. At Rotary, we believe that the health of a mother is the health of a nation,” he said.
Rotarian Evwerhamre explained that the kits were intended to reduce the burden on families and improve health outcomes in Ugboroke and environs.
He urged mothers to make proper use of the delivery kits and continue to access antenatal and postnatal care at the health centre.
The Rotary President also commended the management and staff of the centre for their dedication and selfless service, and appreciated club members for making the project possible.
“As we hand over these kits, we reaffirm Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self. This is just one step. We hope to do more for this community,” he added.
Other Rotarians including Past Assistant District Governor, Rotarian Gabriel Egba, the project chairman , Rotarian Bernard Ojo as well as Rotarian Ifunanya Thomas amongst others reiterated strides of Rotary international toward polio eradication and its advocacy drive to promote healthier lifestyle amongst pregnant women in flattening the curve of Maternal and child mortality.
The matron and some of the beneficiaries expressed their joy at the club’s gesture, affirming the economic relief the gesture has brought to their families.
Meanwhile the Rotary club of Effurun Dynasty led by its President ,Rotarian Michael Evwerhamre visited sections of the health care centre so as to identify areas of needs and intervention from the club.
Highlight was the presentation of the delivery kits to the pregnant women at Ugboroke Primary Health care center.
