The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing the infrastructure and development needs of the people, stressing that his administration’s projects are guided by the genuine needs of communities across the local government area.
Chukwunwike stated this on Wednesday at Isheagu during the official Inauguration of the Isheagu Agro Commodity Market, a landmark project executed by his administration to strengthen economic activities and create opportunities for the people of the community and the wider Nsukwa Clan.

Represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue, the Chairman explained that increased revenue, coupled with prudent management of the council’s resources, had created the financial capacity for the administration to undertake a broad range of infrastructure projects across the local government.
He said the projects being executed by his administration were not arbitrary, but were the outcome of a deliberate needs assessment process carried out across the various communities, with identified priorities forming the basis for government intervention.
According to him, the approach reflects his administration’s commitment to responsive and people centred governance, where public resources are deployed to address real challenges and improve the quality of life of residents.
Speaking on the significance of the Isheagu Agro Commodity Market, Chukwunwike said the facility would stimulate economic activities, enhance revenue generation and provide a more organised environment for agricultural commerce.
He noted that the strategic location of the market would also bring the people of Nsukwa Clan closer together economically and open up new opportunities along the busy Kwale, Ughelli and Asaba highway corridor.
On the political front, the Chairman appealed to the people of Isheagu to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and align with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.
He urged the people to support all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections, stressing the importance of continuity and sustained collaboration between the different levels of government in advancing development.
Pastor Chukwunwike commended the Deputy Legislative Leader and Councillor representing Isheagu Ward, Hon. David Ashikordi Omah, as well as other stakeholders in the ward, for their support and cooperation with his administration.
Reaffirming his commitment to peace and security, the Chairman urged the people to take ownership of government infrastructure by embracing a strong maintenance culture and protecting public facilities from vandalism and neglect.
He also called for the promotion of healthy inter-communal relationships, noting that peace, unity and cooperation remained essential ingredients for sustainable growth and development in Aniocha South.
Earlier, the traditional rulers in council, represented by Chief Austin Modebe on behalf of the community, expressed appreciation to the Chairman for completing the market, describing it as the fulfilment of a long held aspiration of the people.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. David Omah described the commissioning as a dream come true, historic, commending the collaboration between the Executive Chairman and communities across the council area.
He assured the council that the people of Isheagu would protect the facility and ensure that the market was sustained through effective maintenance and responsible use.
Market women, youths and other community stakeholders also described the project as a new dawn for Isheagu, praising Chukwunwike for translating the developmental aspirations of the people into tangible projects.
They noted that the market reflected an administration that listens to its people, identifies their most pressing needs and responds with practical interventions capable of improving livelihoods and stimulating local economic growth.
Dignitaries at the event included the Council Secretary, Hon.Prince Tony Ebube, Chief Jerry Osai; former Commissioner for Agriculture in Delta State, chief Austin Modebe; traditional rulers, chiefs, market women, youths and other community stakeholders.
Also present were; Councillors representing Ejeme, Hon. Paul Brown Ezenwewi, and Hon. Beauty Odimegwu, representing Adonte, who attended in solidarity with their colleague, Hon. Omah David Ashikodi, alongside political appointees of the council.
