The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has congratulated the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Leonard Nzemeke, and the 19 Councilors of the 7th Legislative Council on the successful completion of two years in office.
In a goodwill message Chukwunwike described the legislature’s stewardship as a demonstration of responsible representation, institutional stability and commitment to the progress of the council.
The message was conveyed through the Chairman’s spokesman, Jonathan Oyem.
The Chairman commended the Assembly for sustaining a cordial working relationship with the Executive, noting that the partnership has strengthened democratic governance and accelerated development in the LGA.
“It is with profound appreciation that I celebrate the harmonious and productive relationship between the Executive and Legislative Arms of our local government. Your patriotism, sense of responsibility and unwavering partnership have significantly contributed to the remarkable progress recorded over the past two years,” Chukwunwike stated.
He particularly praised the Councilors for embracing the administration’s _Consolidatory Agenda_, saying their legislative support has helped translate policies and programmes into projects that improve lives.
According to him, the swift consideration and passage of the 2026 Budget of Renewed Hope and Consolidation is evidence of purposeful executive-legislative collaboration. The budget, he said, provides the framework for another phase of infrastructure and human capital development.
“The diligence, patriotism and sense of purpose demonstrated by the Legislative Council underscore a common understanding that governance produces greater results when institutions work in partnership. Together, we are laying a solid foundation for enduring development in Aniocha South,” he added.
Chukwunwike also lauded the Councilors for effective representation, legislative oversight and commitment to constituents’ welfare, which he said have reinforced transparency and accountability.
On infrastructure, the Chairman acknowledged that some wards are yet to receive visible projects, but assured residents that no ward will be left behind.
“Some communities may still be expecting visible government presence, but I assure our people that our development master plan is deliberate, strategic and inclusive. Every part of Aniocha South will ultimately benefit according to their needs,” he said.
He urged political office holders to rise above personal and partisan interests, stressing that leadership is a sacred trust.
“We do not have another Aniocha South. This is our only home. History will remember not merely the offices we occupied, but the impact we made,” Chukwunwike said.
As the 7th Assembly begins another legislative year, the Chairman expressed optimism that the executive-legislative partnership will deliver more democratic dividends.
“Two years is a milestone worthy of celebration, but greater responsibilities lie ahead. We shall continue to maximize every remaining moment of this mandate to deliver impactful projects and leave behind a legacy of development that history will remember with pride,” he concluded.
