It was a celebration of love, faith and a beautiful new beginning at God’s Anointed Word Ministry, River Road, Otokutu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, as Gift Torudon and Ogei Rogers were joined together in holy matrimony in a colourful solemnisation service.
Surrounded by family members, friends, clergymen and well-wishers, the couple exchanged marital vows and pledged to walk together in love, faith and commitment as husband and wife.
Among dignitaries present at the wedding ceremony was the parents of the bride and Groom as well as the uncle of the Groom, the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, and his wife, Hon. Rejoice Andaye, who witnessed the ceremony.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and thanksgiving, with melodious worship rendered by the church choir.
Delivering the wedding sermon, Pastor Azuka Ossai emphasised the importance of communication, love, mutual submission, obedience and adherence to the Word of God as the foundation of a successful and enduring marriage.
He urged the couple to understand themselves, avoid involving third parties in their disagreements, and refrain from reporting each other to parents or friends during misunderstandings. He charged them to make the Word of God the guiding principle of their home.
The wedding ceremony was climaxed with a well-attended reception organized by the couple to entertain their guests and families. Popular Ijaw musician, Barrister Smooth, thrilled the couple and guests with melodious songs.
The reception was chaired by the Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, and Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Chief Isaac Esiovwa.
In his remarks, Chief Esiovwa advised the couple to love themselves and remain prayerful.
Speaking to journalists, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers Ogei described the occasion as the most memorable and joyful moment of their lives.
They appreciated God, their parents, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye and wife, clergymen, politicians and other guests who attended the ceremony.
The reception attracted prominent personalities including the Leader of APC in Bomadi Local Government Area, Senator James Manager; APC Candidate for Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Basil Ganagana; APC Bomadi House of Assembly Candidate, Funyei Manager; High Chief Mike Loyibo; Chief Kingsley Esiso; Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Services Chairman, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata; Chief Barry Pere Gbe; David Ekerekosu Esq.; Wing Commander Peter Biakpara (rtd); and other politicians from Bayelsa State, among others.
