Mother Allegedly Beat 15 -Year- Old Son To Death Over theft of N200

There was a new year tragedy as a Yoruba house wife allegedly beat her 15- year-old son who she accused of stealing her N200 to death in Obire Street off Cemetery Road Warri,Delta state  on Thursday 2nd January, 2025.

 

Some residents of the street who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity alleged that the eldest son of the woman assisted the mother in the criminal act .

 

They narrated that the hands and legs of the boy were tied and that his body was pieced with hot knife from a burning fire and that all these were done behind closed doors.

 

Efforts by concerned residents to plead with the tigres of a mother were unsuccessful as she was said havee a bad relationship with her neighbors.
” When she realized that her son was dying , she ran out and cried for assistance which she got.
“But unfortunately before they arrived Central Hospital, her son died.” A source added.

The source also disclosed that the woman has previously been evicted from a nearby compound to the compound where she lived due to her hostile relationship with neighbors.

 

The source further disclosed that her late son before his death hawked smoke fish for the mother after which he will go for apprenticeship of repairs  of handsets. 
It also gathered that the dead body of the boy has been deposited at the Central Hospital Warri mogue.
The incident was the talk of Obire and neighborhoods when our correspondent arrived the area.

However when the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Police Command SP Bright Edafe was contacted for confirmation of the story, he stated that no such incident was reported to the police at as the time of filing this report.
