The President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU), High Chief Abovi Hope Erute has condemned in strong term the extrajudicial killing of Mr Omena Ogidi by Assistant Superintendent Of Police ( ASP) Nuhu Usman in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area.
Erute who doubles as the Isirerha of Etche R’ Alegbo( traditional administrative unit ) in Uvwie Kingdom made the commendation in a media chat with our correspondent in his office in Uvwie Hall along Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Road, Effurun at the weekend.
He reasoned that police changing of their style of operations, never getting brutal and respecting of human life are supposed to be the benefits of EndSARS protest.

The President General of UGIU praised the police for its swift reaction of dismissing ASP Nuhu Usman from the Nigeria Police Force .
He however quickly added that ” the police should go deeper. So that the end result will be a deterant to such actions of any policeman, anywhere in the country.
” ASP Nuhu Usman who committed the heinous crime is not alone.
There are many of such policemen around. ” he added.
Erute further reasoned that if Mena Ogidi was not killed the police would have unraveled many facts as to where the parcel was going to; where it came from and if Omena Ogidi was the end user of the content of the parcel.
He wrapped up the media chat with the following words” We take solace in the fact that the police are up to the task.
“They are ready to discipline any undisciplined policeman. This they have shown with their swiff dismissal of ASP Nuhu Usman from the Police Force”
