The Nigeria Union of Journalists, DBS Warri Chapel has presented an award of appreciation and excellence to the Airport Manager, Osubi Airport, Chief Winston Egwuatu.
Chairman of NUJ DBS Warri Chapel, Comrade John Glover said the award was in appreciation of the 10KVA Solar Power presented to Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Warri to ensure seamless Television transmissions of her News and programmes.
Comrade John Glover noted that, the leadership of the Union had earlier appealed to the management of Osubi Airport for the provision of the solar power and it granted it.
He stated that, the leadership of the Union cannot act like the nine out of the ten leppers who after receiving their miracles failed to return to say thank you.
Comrade Glover noted that, the provision of the Solar Power has by has greatly improved the operations of the station, expanded its coverage and equally announced stating that the station has been added to a new satellite known as the “FREE TV” as a result of the twenty four hours power supply.
He added that the gesture has helped to restore the confidence and boost the morale of Staff.
He briefed the management of Osubi Airport on the forth coming peace walk of the chapel, held to mark International Day of Peace and to promote peaceful coexistence in Warri and environs and solicited for their support.
Delta State Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Comrade Sonia Unobujor said the Union will continue to promote the activities of the airport in appreciation for gesture.
Represented by the Head of Operations, Osubi Airport, Comrade Victor Ifemkwe, the Airport Manager, Chief Winston Egwuatu thanked the leadership of the NUJ DBS Warri Chapel for the honour nothing ng that it will spur him to do more.
He expressed happiness that their assistance which is part of their corporate social responsibility has helped to scale up the services of the state owned Broadcasting outfit and promised further collaboration.
He called on other organizations to lend a helping hand towards the smooth operations of Delta Broadcasting service Warri.
