The Rotary Club of Ubeji and the Rotary Club of Warri Trailblazers have taken maternal healthcare to riverine communities in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state.
Actual News Correspondent reports that the Clubs Donated Delivery kits to the expectant and nursing mothers in Orugbo and Ode-Itsekiri communities.
The Members of Clubs traveled by speedboat to Ode Itsekiri and Orugbo communities to sensitize women on antenatal care and distributed essential maternal items to them at both venues.

At the Orugbo Community Town Hall and Ode-Itsekiri Primary Health Centre, the women gathered to receive the Rotarians and listen to health talks on safe pregnancy and childbirth.

Speaking during the outreach, the President of Rotary Club of Ubeji, Rotarian Daniel Ololo, represented by Past President of the club, Rotarian Daniel Edemayibo, urged the women to attend antenatal regularly and take routine drugs to ensure healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.
The President of Rotary Club of Warri Trailblazer, Rotarian Eyituoyo Ovie-Jack, represented by Rotarian Alero Omasheye, also advised expectant mothers to eat healthy and use only drugs prescribed by medical professionals for their safety and that of their unborn children.
They noted that members of Rotary International are committed to serving humanity and supporting safe motherhood.
Representing the District 9141 Governor, Rotarian Anthony Olikagu, Assistant District Governor Area 46, Rotarian Florence Chukwuebuni, said the donation of delivery kits and maternal care materials aligns with one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus which is Maternal and Child Health.
She added that the essence of the items is to improve access to safe delivery and promote safe childbirth in underserved riverine communities.
The women of Orugbo and Ode-Itsekiri expressed appreciation to the clubs for the gesture, praying for God’s blessings on the Rotarians for their concern about maternal health.
The outreach ended with the distribution of soft drinks and snacks to all participants.
