More than 100 people have benefited from free medical care provided by Rotary International District 9141 in collaboration with 10 Rotary clubs from Warri South, Okpe, Ughelli South, and Uvwie local government areas under the Rotary Family Health Days programme.
The one-day event was held at the Okuokoko Primary Healthcare Centre in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State and attracted a large turnout of children, youths, women, men, and the elderly.

Patients received malaria screening, blood sugar tests, vital signs checks, and other medical services.
Drugs were prescribed by doctors after the screening exercises.

Some beneficiaries who spoke with Actualnewsng.com commended the Rotary clubs for the gesture, describing it as timely relief amid rising healthcare costs.
Speaking at the outreach, the Focal Point for Rotary Family Health Days in Warri and environs as well as president Rotary club of Effurun Gateway, Rtn Ada Lucky, Rtn Malik Abubakar, President, Rotary Club of Osubi, Rtn Sonnie Akporherhe, Vice President, Rotary Club of Okpe and Rtn Ese Ohwofaraye, Secretary, Rotary Club of Okuokoko, said Rotary is known for humanitarian services and providing free medical care in its mandate areas.

They noted that the programme was designed to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery, particularly for people in rural communities.
Earlier, Rotary International District 9141 Governor, Rotarian Anthony Woghiren, represented by Assistant District Governor Zone 10, Rtn Festus Esharenana, commended the clubs for embarking on the free medical outreach to relieve families of the financial burden of healthcare.
He added that Rotary International is committed to providing healthcare for nursing mothers, children, and others who cannot afford treatment due to lack of funds.

Nursing mothers and some elderly persons received insecticide-treated mosquito nets, while sanitary pads were distributed to girls and women.
