The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council and Secretary of ALGON, Delta State, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has described the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Fidelia Ighrakpata as Substantive Provost of the College of Education, Warri, as “a well-deserved recognition of years of dedication, academic excellence, and exceptional leadership.”

Hon. Andaye said her emergence reflects consistency, integrity, and commitment to educational advancement, expressing confidence that her wealth of experience and visionary capacity would reposition the institution for greater academic distinction.
Andaye, who also serves as Secretary of the Delta State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, made the remarks on Sunday, June 28, 2026, when he joined top government functionaries at a thanksgiving service held in her honour at the Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun.
Among dignitaries present were the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor; Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo; Okpe Local Government Chairman and Delta ALGON Chairman, Chief Isaiah Esiovwa, amongst others.
The thanksgiving service was held to express gratitude to God for the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Ighrakpata, which has been widely acknowledged as a testament to competence, diligence, and exemplary service in the education sector.
Guests later proceeded to the reception where political leaders, government functionaries, family members, associates, and well-wishers celebrated the milestone recorded by the Ighrakpata family.
Hon. Andaye extended heartfelt congratulations to the new Provost, praying that Almighty God would grant her divine wisdom, strength, sound health, and uncommon grace to discharge her responsibilities with distinction. He said he was confident her tenure would usher in a new era of innovation, academic excellence, and institutional transformation.
The Bomadi Council Chairman also reaffirmed his admiration for her husband, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata and his family, wishing them continued divine favour and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
